I am an Associate Professor of Leadership Studies and Organizational Behavior at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I earnt my Master of Science in Work & Organizational Psychology at Radboud University Nijmegen, then got my Ph.D in Business Administration in Maastricht University, and currently write and teach about leadership and change management. I am the founder of a Master of Science in Business Administration called “Leadership and Change Management.” This master programme now trains about 90 change agents per year to go and tackle the daunting transformational challenges of this day in the world of business and government. My research has been widely published in many of the leading journals in the field of Management, and am now myself an Associate Editor at one of them (Journal of Organizational Behavior) and a member of many of their Editorial Boards. I am also a bit of a philosopher, as I teach a course on theory building, which is basically a set of mental tricks for how to develop and formulate high-quality theoretical ideas.
In my personal life, I am the husband of Cilla Ezerman-Solinger, father to Jair and Noa, stepfather to Daniel, Matan, Shiraz, and Dorien, and step-grandpa to Aliza-Tehila and Ilay. Born in Paramaribo, I am also a son-of-a-preacher-man. My father Gerard Solinger was a minister in a church, as was his father (my grandpa David Solinger). So I come from a pool of (Christian) faith, so to speak. As a hobby, I actively study the Bible in its original languages (Hebrew and Greek). Since about half a year, I’ve been able to combine this studious hobby with my profession, as I now lead two interdisciplinary projects (involving a postdoc and a PhD) that combine academic theology with theories of management and psychology. What I forgot to mention? I love to play the piano.
My publications are open access can be obtained either via Google Scholar

Senior Lecturer-Coach/Trainer

My passion lies in equipping local and global leaders, enabling them to make a significant difference in society and the world. I started my career in banking, quickly advancing into leadership roles. I spent just under 20 years in Christian Ministry and NGO leadership in South Africa, where much of my focus was on empowering teenagers, young adults, and leaders in citywide, nationwide, and international settings.

I met my wife, Cora, who is Dutch, and we moved to London. There, I ventured into consulting and later relocated to The Netherlands, where I have taken on various roles in Higher Education, including management and coaching of lecturers and students. I hold a Masters Degree in Futures Studies (Strategic Foresight) from Stellenbosch University Business School and a Masters Degree with a specialisation in Practical Theology from the University of Pretoria.

I find fulfilment in serving as a leader in my local international church in Rotterdam and The Hague.
